On Wednesday 4th July 2012, the Olive Tree Restaurant at the award-winning Green Bough Hotel will be hosting a very Special Gourmet Evening to showcase the talent of its Young Chef of the Year, Jordan Hay.
At just 19 years old, Jordan joined their kitchen brigade in 2009 as an apprentice chef, completing his NVQ qualifications at West Cheshire College whilst developing his practical culinary skills under the guidance of the Green Bough’s Head Chef, Neil Griffiths.
Neil, a former student of the college himself, said “We hope that this evening gives Jordan the recognition he deserves, he is a key member of our kitchen team and has a clear passion for food. Over the past two and a half years we have also watched his confidence grow when asked to talk to guests about the sourcing of ingredients and the techniques we use to prepare our dishes, something we feel is an important part of their dining experience.
Jordan is always keen to offer input into the Restaurant’s seasonal Menu Collection but this event will give people the opportunity to taste a five course gourmet menu designed by him and prepared under his watch as he takes the kitchen reigns for the evening.
Jordan is a young man with a bright future. He says his inspiration comes from a curiosity to discover new flavor partnerships and feels hard work is the key to becoming a successful Head Chef.
Support Jordan at the Olive Tree Restaurant, Hoole Road, Chester at 7pm on Wednesday 4th July 2012.
