The Appleby Manor Country House is a four-star luxury Victorian Manor set in Cumbria within the Eden Valley. The manor was built in 1877 for a wealthy solicitor, John Alcock Heelis, and was originally named Garbridge House, the building was converted into a hotel in the late 1940s and was renamed Appleby Manor Hotel to become one of the best Cumbrian Hotels. In 2008 it became the winner of Cumbria Tourism "Small Hotel of the year 2008" beating many other local hotels in Cumbria.

The Appleby Manor has 31 luxurious bedrooms, which are seperated into three different areas of the hotel, the Victorian Manor House contains the Heelis suite, deluxe rooms and some standard rooms. The garden wing has a slightly more modern feel with the ground floor rooms benefiting from having their own patio and garden furniture.

Appleby Manor's restaurant has been awarded 1 AA rosette, which makes it one of the best restaurants in the Lake District area. The Oak Room Restaurant serves a wide range of imaginative and mouth-watering individually priced dishes.
