Stonehenge and Old Sarum, Salisbury Cathedral, Old Wardour Castle and Wilton House are all within 20 minutes drive; the magnificent Stourhead Gardens, Longleat House and Bath only a little further. Splendid walks abound and country pursuits such as riding, fishing and shooting can all be arranged... but if its a quieter life you yearn for then perhaps a game of croquet on the lawn or the chance to curl up in front of the log fire with a good book... all are possible at Howard's House.
