With 16 individually designed and decorated ensuite bedrooms in the main building – some with their own balcony, and 3 suites (2 of which are in the grounds with private parking), there is accommodation to suit everyone including families and those with mobility issues. The restaurant has an excellent reputation for fine dining and has been listed in the Good Food Guide for 41 years. Our award-winning Cumbrian breakfast is freshly cooked to order and ingredients for our delicious dinners are sourced locally wherever possible. Residents have free use of a nearby health club and fishing permits.

We specialise in small informal meetings with the emphasis on comfort, relaxation and good food and wine. The Brathay Room can accommodate a maximum of 22 people and benefits from natural light from French windows opening onto a private terrace.

Rothay Manor is ideally situated in the heart of Central Lakeland making an excellent base from which to explore the Lake District from north to south and east to west. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside with it's famous Bridge House, and also 5 minutes walk from the head of Lake Windermere where you can take a cruise to Bowness, or Lakeside at the southern end of the lake.
