The Rose & Crown - Luxury Boutique Hotels in County Durham
The Rose & Crown is a quintessential English coaching inn set in the idyllic dales village of Romaldkirk. It overlooks the green with stocks and water pump and stands next to the magnificent Saxon church which is known to the locals as ‘The Cathedral of the Dale’. Inside you will find a blend of period features and contemporary design making this a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
The hotel has fourteen en-suite bedrooms which are split between the Main house and the Courtyard. The 7 main house rooms are full of charm and character with modern touches of luxury. The five coutyard rooms have a more contemporary style with a feeling of independence as do the two in Monk's Cottage. All are beautifully appointed with essentials such as TV's, DVD's, Bose sound systems and free wifi.
Enjoy delicious food that showcases the fabulous local produce of the dale and surrounding region. The oak panelled dining room is steeped in character with intimate lighting and comfortable seating. Drinks can be enjoyed in the cosy bar with its open fire place, spindle back armchairs and relaxed ambiance or in the snug residents lounge.
