Hotelier News

A
huge congratulations to Linthwaite House Hotel for winning ‘The Knight Frank
Award for Excellence and Innovation’ at the Conde Nast Johansens Awards.

The
prestigious awards were created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence
across the recommended properties in the Conde Nast Johansens guides. The
world-renowned awards are a trusted mark of quality recognised by consumers and
travel professionals alike and represent the finest standards and best value
for money in luxury and independent accommodation.

Alderley Edge Hotel came away with two awards at the Cheshire Life
Awards, The Brasserie won the
“Best Cheshire Restaurant” title and head chef Chris Holland was
named “North West Chef of the Year”
at a black
tie dinner at Manchester’s Midland Hotel.

Judges were impressed by the Brasserie’s “masterpiece of
conception and design” and said that “the combination of traditional French
brasserie style with a menu of classic retro dishes featuring high quality
ingredients served with a modern twist, makes dining here a rewarding and fun
experience.”

And Chris Holland’s award comes after years of building the
Alderley Restaurant to the three AA rosette standard that it achieved in 2010
and launching the new Brasserie’s retro menu, as an alternative food option,
earlier this year.

The
‘double’ now makes five prestigious awards in the last six years. Ahmet Kurcer
received a Cheshire Life Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006,
Alderley Edge Hotel won the Visit Chester & Cheshire  Small
Hotel of the Year
award in 2007 and the Alderley
Restaurant took the
Cheshire Life Restaurant of the Year title in 2009.

The
Hotel, which is often referred to as the regions best known country hotels has
changed hands. The previous owners, Chris and Alison Davy have sold the
property to the owners of Headlam Hall, the Robinson family. Chris and Alison
have had a very successful 23 years at the Rose and Crown but say their
retirement is beckoning.
John
Robinson and his wife Ann have owned the four star Headlam Hall since 1978.
Thomas Robinson expresses his delight and explains the reasons behind the move:
“One of the main reasons that we were attracted to it is the fact that it
shares the same core values as our operation at Headlam – high quality
accommodation, great locally sourced food, friendly service and a charming
building.”
We
wish the Robinson family good luck.
